Marriott Bonvoy is one of the best-known hotel loyalty programs in the world, with 30 brands offering every type of accommodation — from affordable comfort to opulent luxury — plus private vacation homes in the Homes & Villas by Marriott International collection. With such variety, there’s a Marriott brand for your extended-visit staycation, three-night business or leisure trip, or brief romantic getaway in an overwater bungalow in paradise. And the perks are even better if you use a Marriott Bonvoy-affiliated credit card. Here is a look at all of the Marriott brand hotels, most of which let you earn and redeem Marriott Bonvoy points.
The Ritz-Carlton The Ritz-Carlton is known for exemplary service and, at some properties, club lounges. These lounges offer all-day food and beverage selections for guests booked in club-level rooms. There are nearly 100 Ritz-Carlton hotels and 50 residential properties around the world.
Edition Marriott partnered with designer Ian Schrager to create the style-driven luxury and lifestyle brand Edition. There are just a handful of Edition properties around the world, and they can be found in London; Miami Beach, Florida; and Bodrum, Turkey.
W Hotels Hip luxury is the hallmark of W Hotels, with 55 properties in 25 countries. Local DJs set the tone at some locations, as W Hotels host the Wake Up Call music festival at a different W around the world each year. In 2019, W Dubai – The Palm hosted the weekend event with concerts, dance parties and curated playlists of popular and up-and-coming artists.
The Luxury Collection The Luxury Collection is made up of more than 110 properties that balance individuality and local charm with the reliability of the Marriott Bonvoy program. These hotels include golfer-friendly The Ballantyne in Charlotte, North Carolina, and the charming Perry Lane Hotel in Savannah, Georgia. The Hotel Paracas near the Nazca Lines of Peru and the Hotel Grande Bretagne, a regal property in Athens, Greece, are also part of the Luxury Collection. Bulgari Hotels & Resorts This luxury brand has hotels in Bali, Indonesia; Beijing; Dubai, United Arab Emirates; London; Milan and Shanghai; with more opening soon in Moscow, Paris, Rome, Tokyo and Miami Beach. Although the collection is part of the Marriott family, Bulgari Hotels and Resorts don't participate in Marriott Bonvoy.
St. Regis St. Regis’ more than 40 global properties are famous for their service — like the team of butlers who will deliver complimentary coffee or tea to your room and unpack and pack your bags for you. Top-level elite members can get complimentary breakfast when they stay at St. Regis properties. Many St. Regis hotel bars put on a signature Champagne-sabering ritual. This hotel is also known for the bloody mary, which is said to have been invented at the St. Regis in New York. Many St. Regis properties around the world serve their own regional bloody mary recipes.
JW Marriott Premium hotels under the JW Marriott brand can range in size from small hotels to mega-size resorts. Many JW Marriotts operate club levels, giving elite-member guests access. A number of JW Marriotts have ample meeting space, recreational facilities and fine dining options. There are 85 JW Marriottt hotels in nearly 30 countries and global territories, including the JW Marriott Marquis Dubai, which the Guinness Book of World Records lists as the world’s tallest hotel. Sheraton Sheraton has close to 450 hotels in over 70 countries and territories, making it the most global of Marriott’s brands. Currently, the Sheraton brand is undergoing an overhaul, creating more communal work spaces, refreshing guest rooms and lobby areas and adding new club lounges. Other changes include a unique coffee/bar concept that uses the same space to double as a coffee shop during the day and a cocktail bar at night.
Marriott The namesake brand offers full-service amenities, often with a focus on the business traveler, at more than 550 hotels in over 60 countries and territories. Many Marriotts have M Club lounges, an executive lounge for premium room guests and a popular upgrade perk for top-level elite members. A recent trend with Marriott is moving the M Club down to the lobby level along with its Great Room lounge and cocktail bar concept. Both are designed to create a more communal gathering space and activity in the public area. Of Marriott’s North American portfolio, 80% of its hotels have undergone renovations as part of a brand refresh. Marriott Vacation Club These vacation ownership properties include nearly 60 resorts and more than 12,000 timeshare properties globally. They are available for nightly rental for travelers who aren't looking for a long stay.
Delta Hotels by Marriott With hotels in the U.S., Canada, China, Turkey, the United Kingdom, Germany and the United Arab Emirates, this is one of the newest brands to come into the Marriott fold. Delta Hotels by Marriott have a strong business traveler focus. The brand is rapidly expanding: The Delta Hotels Virginia Beach Bayfront Suites recently opened, and a Delta by Marriott Riviera Nayarit All Inclusive in Mexico is in the works. Westin Hotels & Resorts Westins are all about wellness — known for its signature Heavenly Bed and the soothing white tea fragrance of the bath products. (Delta Air Lines even uses Heavenly Bed blankets and pillows in its Delta One cabin.) The 225 Westin hotels and resorts worldwide feature health-focused amenities, like a "run concierge" program to plot jogging routes and WestinWorkout studios at some locations. Le Meridien Born in Paris and created by Air France to be a home away from home for its passengers, Le Meridiens today are found in over 100 destinations around the world. Favorite features of this brand include Malin+Goetz toiletries in guest rooms, a sparkling cocktail program and a new gelato and sorbet menu known as Le Scoop, with themed flavors based on the destination.
Renaissance Hotels Chic design and local experiences await guests at Renaissance Hotels. The brand puts a strong focus on each property’s local community. At the brand’s 160-some hotels, "Navigators" assist guests in discovering the most unique and authentic local experiences — whether that means a place to sample street food or the best spots for live music.
Autograph Collection These 200-plus boutique hotels design spaces and guest experiences with elements that nod to the local area. To that end, each Autograph Collection hotel has its own story — no two properties being alike. For example, the Academias Hotel in Athens, Greece, hosts get-togethers with a local professor on topics ranging from philosophy to life balance. Tribute Portfolio Tribute Portfolio is a collection of boutique hotels that stay true to their individuality while participating in Marriott Bonvoy and Marriott’s global reservations system. The more than 30 Tribute Portfolio hotels vary from urban boutiques and tropical resorts to serene escapes steeped in local heritage — like the Inn of Santa Fe in San Diego, where the classic Spanish-California architecture hearkens to the history of the region.
Design Hotels No two Design Hotels are alike. Distinctive architecture, signature design and unique local experiences define each of the 51 boutique properties in the collection. In Marrakech, Morocco, a 300-year-old city palace is home to Design Hotels’ AnaYela property. In Singapore, three warehouses were transformed into a collection of elegant guest rooms at The Warehouse hotel.
Gaylord Hotels Large convention spaces with upscale resort amenities highlight Gaylord Hotels’ focus on meetings and events. Guests find varied dining and plenty of services for business travelers and families alike. Some Gaylord Hotels, like the Gaylord Rockies Resort & Convention Center (Aurora, Colorado) and Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center (Nashville, Tennessee), have lavish swimming pools and water park facilities. All have impressive dining outlets that attract leisure visitors to keep the hotels hopping between conventions. Courtyard by Marriott Courtyard is one of Marriott’s largest brands, with more than 1,100 hotels spanning the globe from Agra, India, to Walla Walla, Washington, and beyond. Courtyards cater to business and leisure travelers looking for comfort minus lots of pricey amenities. Partnering with the NFL, Courtyard hosts a Super Bowl Sleepover Contest. The winner gets to spend the night in a Courtyard-by-Marriott-themed suite inside the stadium hosting the Super Bowl.
SpringHill Suites by Marriott With over 400 hotels in the U.S. and Canada, SpringHill Suites offer spacious studios or one-bedroom accommodations designed for both business and leisure travelers. The complimentary hot breakfast is a nice touch.
Four Points by Sheraton The more than 300 Four Points by Sheraton properties around the world cater to both business and leisure travelers. The brand’s popular Best Brews program incorporates local craft beer into the hotels’ bar menus. Four Points is the fourth-largest in the Marriott portfolio when it comes to the number of properties open outside of North America. Fairfield by Marriott Inspired by Fairfield, the Virginia farm that served as a retreat for J. Willard Marriott’s own family, Fairfield by Marriott properties are meant to be simple and inviting. The more than 1,000 Fairfield hotels around the world offer reliable amenities like free hot breakfast and wireless internet for all guests. Protea Hotels by Marriott This brand is well-known in parts of Africa, where more than 80 Protea properties cater to guests from around the world. When it was added to the Marriott Bonvoy family, it stepped up Marriott’s presence in this growing market. With Protea, business and leisure travelers both find comfortable accommodations in desirable locations.
AC Hotels by Marriott This legendary Spanish brand is now one of Marriott’s fast-growing names and offers hotels in more than 155 destinations globally. ACs are known for European-inspired touches, like the Spanish ham slicer at breakfast and premium Italian coffee in the rooms. The hotels feature minimalist design and artistic lobby lounges in cities around the world, from Huntsville, Alabama, to Zaragoza, Spain. Aloft Hotels Think of Aloft Hotels as the younger, more budget-friendly sibling to the fashionable W Hotels brand. You’ll find similar amenities, like the W XYZ Bar in the lobby and music-themed programming focused on “next-generation” travelers at its more than 175 locations. In fact, the brand likes to say it is a hotel for music makers and music lovers. It even hosts the Live at Aloft Hotels program, which features emerging artist concerts at different hotels as well as an "American Idol"-style competition.
Moxy Hotels Stylish and affordable, Moxy Hotels are designed for the Millennial and Gen Z traveler, yet they appeal to all ages. Bedrooms are smartly designed with simple amenities that eschew cabinets in favor of under-bed drawers and wall hooks. Public areas are playful, often with games for guests to borrow and social lounges that double as communal work spaces. Aside from grab-and-go coffee bars and cocktail lounges, some have impressive dining venues, like Moxy East Village with Cathedrale, a popular neighborhood restaurant and rooftop bar.
Homes & Villas by Marriott International These private vacation homes are located around the world and come with Marriott’s commitment to high housekeeping standards. The homes are regularly inspected to ensure they meet the quality standards needed to remain in the portfolio. Homes & Villas by Marriott International offer an upscale answer to short-term rental sites, but they come with the added bonus of earning or redeeming Marriott Bonvoy points.
Residence Inn by Marriott A classic extended-stay brand, Residence Inn’s more than 800 properties feature studio or multi-bedroom accommodations with kitchenettes and living areas designed for longer stays. Breakfast is included in the rate.
TownePlace Suites by Marriott TownePlace Suites come in studio, one- and two-bedroom units with kitchenettes and closet space optimized by the Container Store. The brand is a favorite of guests who need to unpack, settle in and stay organized. Some properties even have Weber grills on-site for outdoor barbecues. Marriott Executive Apartments These furnished apartments are designed for executives looking for residential-style living without a hotel atmosphere. Marriott Executive Apartments feature dining rooms, kitchens and bedrooms that can be customized to suit guests’ needs.
Element by Westin Element by Westin hotels are extended-stay hotels that follow Westin’s well-being lifestyle ideal — except with more space than a traditional hotel room. Accommodations come with fully equipped kitchens, and guests have access to free breakfast and evening social hours with refreshments at most hotels. The more than 50 Element by Westin hotels around the world offer eco-friendly saline swimming pools, bikes for guests to borrow and electric car charging stations.
